Is this a guided tour or am I responsible for my own travel?
FOMO Adventures offers a unique blend of guided and independent travel, giving you the best of both worlds. We take care of all your accommodation, bus routes, and included activities, so you can focus on enjoying your adventure. However, it’s up to you to arrive on time at the designated pick-up or starting points. Missing an activity or bus means no refunds, and you’ll be responsible for arranging alternative travel and covering any related costs. During your free time, you can choose your own activities or book additional tours (subject to availability). While there’s no official guide accompanying the trip, a dedicated group coordinator will be available via WhatsApp to assist you along the way.
What is a semi self-guided tour, and how does it work?

Can I book accommodation for before the trip starts?

What is the age range for the tours?
Our tours are open to anyone aged 18 and above, but the typical age range is between 18 and 35. This is because our selected accommodations and activities are designed to appeal to social backpackers within this demographic.
How many people will be on tour
FOMO Adventures tours typically accommodate a maximum of 18 travelers, with a minimum group size of 2. This ensures a more intimate and social experience, allowing everyone to connect while still having the freedom for personal exploration.
When will I receive official tickets and all details?
After securing your booking with Travel Buddies, you’ll receive a confirmation email. Your finalized itinerary, complete with bus schedules and activity times tailored to your trip, will be sent to you no later than 21 days before departure.
What happens if I can only go for less than 15 days or more than 42 days?
No matter your required length of travel, we can tailor to suit you.
Do the tours offer special dietary requirements?
Yes, please inform us of any special dietary requirements when booking so we can notify the tour operators in advance. Most tours are equipped to accommodate a wide range of dietary needs.
Do I need to be a certified scuba diver to scuba dive in Australia?
Not at all! Many of our partner tours offer introductory scuba dives that don’t require certification, making them perfect for beginners or those who have never tried diving before.
I don’t really like to party and I’m not a big drinker, is this tour for me?
Yes, we cater for everyone out there. Whether you wanted a more relaxing/adventure experience. We partner with different tour providers who offer these types of experiences as well.
Can I switch and change for other activities?
Absolutely! We can customize your itinerary by swapping out activities, removing add-ons, or including additional activities to suit your preferences. Let us know your needs, and we’ll tailor the experience for you.
Can I pay a deposit and pay for the full amount later?
Absolutely! As former backpackers ourselves, we understand the challenge of paying the full amount upfront. That’s why we offer a deposit scheme. You’ll only need to pay a small deposit when booking your trip, with the remaining balance due at least 4 months before your trip begins.
What happens if any of the tours are cancelled because of the weather?
If an activity is cancelled due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, we will try to reschedule it or find an alternative activity for you. If rescheduling or finding an alternative is not possible, you will receive a refund for the discounted rate paid for that activity.
Do I have to travel by bus?
Not at all! Other options include campervan rentals or car hire. However, we believe the Greyhound bus, our trusted partner, offers the most stress-free experience and the best value for money.
Is hostel accommodation included in the packages?
Yes, it is possible! However, we can also arrange packages without hostel accommodation if preferred—though we wouldn’t recommend it!
How do I know what to do on each day?
Chat with one of our travel experts, where we will go through everything there is to do in each destination. Along with this, our hostel partners will have daily activities and sightseeing tours to offer you while you are out there.
Do you organise campervans?
Yes, we work with pretty much all of the campervans in Australia.
Do we need travel insurance?
Yes, travel insurance is vital. Please make sure that you take out a good travel insurance policy before you travel.
How do I book?
